Is it LinkedIn’s new policy?
A lot of LinkedIn users are using user managed discussion groups to exchange business topics. The biggest of all is MyLinkedinPowerForum moderated mainly by Vincent Wright.
LinkedIn recently sent him a letter to notify their trademark stuffs, and a lot of users, including me were confused that LinkedIn changed their policy to stop us using LinkedIn name on such discussion groups.
But well, it’s not like that.
According to Vincent,
Linkedin is NOT forcing me to close my groups.
Linkedin is NOT forcing me to change the names of all my groups.
Linkedin is NOT forcing me to do ANYTHING with the domains I’ve
purchased which contain the word “Linkedin”
so, Vincent is changing the names of the group in respect of LinkedIn, but not by any force from LinkedIn.
However, I run LinkedIn users interest group on Japan, and it’s called LinkedInJapan. Although it’s not a must to change the name, but I’ve been thinking about some alternatives.
